What inspired you to start jugalbandi.info?
Our friend Hari Muthuswamy died young and suddenly of leukemia. That prompted us to sharpen our focus on health and nutrition and start a blog. That was exactly five years ago. One of us was vegetarian,. the other was vegan. Now we are decidedly carnivorous in keeping with our fitness and nutriitonal goals.

What's your favorite meal to prepare?
Eggs - scrambled, easy over, any way really. And salad.

What camping recipes for kids would you recommend?
Baked potatoes (on a camp grill), fruit salad, fish and potato cakes, guacamole.

What are some cooking utensils a camper should bring with them while camping?
a cast iron skillet, metal spatula with a wooden handle and some kind of container to boil water.

What are some foods/utensils a camper shouldn't bring while camping?
non-stick cookware (we wouldn't recommend it even at home).

For vegetarian campers, could you suggest some vegetarian meals/recipes?
a pilaf with rice and veggies, risotto with rice, veggies and cheese, eggs, salads. baked sweet potatoes with butter or guacamoler. as a rule, we avoid gluten.

What's one food you can't live without?
avocadoes, coconut.

What are some camping dessert recipes you would recommend?
we don't eat sugar at all, so we not the right people to answer this. but fruit with cheese would do nicely. or some strawberries dipped in dark chocolate.

If you could learn how to cook any meal from any chef, what meal would you want to learn how to cook?
how to make perfect poached eggs.

In 10 years do you see yourself still cooking and blogging?
yes, we do.
